You can now download TWRP 3.3.1 for Redmi Note 8 Pro, Nokia 7.2 and the Xiaomi Mi A3 phones. Most of these phones have had unofficial builds of the TeamWin Recovery Project, but all of them are supported officially by TWRP to the latest version. Once we unlock the bootloader of our phones, the next step is mostly to install a custom recovery.
TWRP has always been our favourite custom recovery, mainly because it supports a crazy number of Android devices. The last TWRP 3.3.1 build is now available for these recent models that were launched with Android 9 Pie, but have now been updated to Android 10. TWRP 3.3.1 has not received an update in a long time because of the platform architectural changes Google did at the backend.
TWRP 3.3.1 Custom Recovery:
TWRP 3.3.1 is the latest release of TeamWin Recovery Project. It was released for Android 9 pie based phones and does not support Android 10 directly. Similarly, all the new Android phones that have shipped with Android 10 cannot have TWRP custom recovery. The support will take a while. As per the last changelog, there were a few changes, mostly bug fixes:
- Fix selinux issues during formatting – dianlujitao
- Various fixes for toybox and toolbox builds – CaptainThrowback and bigbiff
- Flash both A and B partitions when installing a recovery ramdisk – Dees_Troy
- Add option to uninstall TWRP app from /system – Dees_Troy
- Create digest for subpartitions – bigbiff

TWRP 3.3.1 for Redmi Note 8 Pro
Since the Redmi Note 8 Pro is not powered by a Snapdragon processor, it took a while to be officially supported with TWRP 3.3.1. In case you are here to download TWRP for this phone, there is a big warning from us to only download and flash this custom recovery if you really know what you are doing.
There are certain instructions that you need to follow or else you will be stuck with a bricked Redmi Note 8 Pro for good. Currently, there is no way to unbrick the Redmi Note 8 Pro. TWRP 3.3.1 for Xiaomi Mi A3
Xiaomi Mi A3 is one of our favourite Android One phones. The first A1 was the most popular one by Xiaomi. TWRP 3.3.1 is now available for the Mi A3 phone. This phone had an unofficial port for a while now, but you can flash the official one now. We’d suggest reading through tutorials online before flashing this recovery. Mi A3 uses A/B partition system which is slightly different and quite complicated to work with for most people.

TWRP 3.3.1 for Nokia 7.2
You can also download the latest TWRP 3.3.1 recovery for the Nokia 7.2. This phone also had an unofficial build, but TWRP official support came in just last month. There have been a couple of custom ROMs for the Nokia 7.2 and to install them, you need to have a custom recovery on your phone.
It is much easier to install TWRP 3.3.1 right now on the phone because it is still running Android 9 Pie. Once the phone receives official Android 10 update, it will be difficult to get TWRP running because of changes how Android loads partitions.
