You can download the latest available version of Odin for Samsung Galaxy devices from this page. For those who are new, Odin is a very popular software that has been around for more than 10 years now. It is a well-known name among the developer and modding community who have been developing custom ROMs and system packages for the Samsung Galaxy phones — and tablets too. The latest version available is Odin v3.14.4.
Odin from Samsung is a very small program that is only compatible with Windows and is used to modify your Samsung Galaxy device’s system partition. This is very useful when you want to root your phone or install custom system packages to modify the overall functionality of your device. We have mentioned Odin in almost every guide we have covered on Team Android for Samsung devices where you have to install a third-party package. This software has evolved over time to support new Android versions and latest Galaxy devices.
What is Odin used for?
Here on Team Android, the reference to using Odin has mostly been around when installing a Samsung firmware manually, or when gaining root access with CF-Auto-Root on a Samsung Galaxy phone or even tablets. CF-Auto-Root has been our choice of the root package to use when trying to gain full system access. You can read more on how to root Android phones — on Android Nougat, Android Oreo, Android Pie, Android 10, Android 11, Android 12 and even Android 13.
Another important use of Odin is when you want to manually flash or install a firmware. Almost every Samsung Galaxy series of devices (phone and tablets) are compatible with Odin and if you have the firmware file with you, you can install it on your device. This is particularly useful when you are trying out custom ROMs and want to revert back to factory settings with stock apps and features.

Odin – Features
Odin is a very small tool for flashing stock updates and firmware files, but here is a quick list of all features it supports:
- No installation required
- Supports official Samsung firmware
- Root Samsung Galaxy phones
- Re-partition your phone with PIT file
No installation required:
All Odin versions are portable and do not need any sort of installation on your system. You only need to extract the .EXE file into a folder and use it from there. All configuration options are found in Odin itself.
Supports official Samsung firmware:
Odin allows you to flash official firmware direct on your Samsung device without actually tripping KNOX warranty. This means, the firmware you flash through Odin will be as genuine as once you update through OTA (over-the-air) update system or through Samsung Smart Switch / Samsung KIES.
Root Samsung Galaxy phones:
The most popular method and arguably the most easiest, to root your Galaxy device is through Auto-Root. Singular packages have been made by Chainfire that work on specific models and specific firmware. These packages can be downloaded and can be flashed directly through ODIN. Also compatible with Firmware.Mobi online tool.
Re-partition your phone with PIT file:
You can execute this advanced task by plugging in a .PIT file which contains all the partition info and the re-partition your device. This is helpful when you want to deep clean your phone.
Download Odin for Windows
The creators have made Odin extremely light and easy to use. The software occupies minimal space itself.
