Root Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 on Android 7.0 Nougat with SuperSU

Always backup your important data that you might need after you install a new custom ROM, an official software update or anything else. Make a backup for just in case, you never know when anything might go wrong. See below for some tips on how to backup data:

• Backup APN Settings: GPRS, 3G, MMS Settings. How? Note down everything from: Settings > Wireless & Networks (More…) > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

Samsung users can also back up data using Samsung KIES. If you backup data manually, you get more options what to choose from and it is very easy to move data across Android devices from different manufacturers, i.e moving Samsung Galaxy Note 3 backup data to Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

If you already have a custom recovery (ClockworkMod, TWRP etc.) installed on your tablet, we strongly recommend a backup using that as it creates a complete image of your existing tablet set up.

A few more optional tips that you should remember:

Because, if your tablet goes off suddenly while installing a custom ROM, flashing an official firmware update or installing mods etc. — your tablet might get bricked or go dead permanently. 3. Most of the tutorials and how-to guides on Team Android are for factory unlocked Android phones and tablets. We recommend NOT to try our guides if your tablet is locked to a carrier, unless we have specified the carrier name or device model.

How to Root Galaxy Tab S3 with SuperSU Package on Android 7.0

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to root Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 with SuperSU. Please read every line carefully below. We suggest that you should read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your tablet.

To Remember:

• This root method tutorial is only for Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Please don’t try this on any other variants of the tablet.
• Make sure you backup all your data in your tablet before proceeding.
• This will void your warranty.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

NOTE: You need to have a custom recovery installed on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 i.e. ClockworkMod or TWRP Recovery before proceeding below.

Step 1 – Download SuperSU Root (SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip) and Download Patched Boot Image (no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx.zip) for Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to your computer.

Step 2 – Connect your Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 – Now copy/paste the downloaded SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip file to your SD card or internal memory. Make sure the file is in the SD card / internal memory root (not in any folder).

Step 4 – Then turn OFF your tablet and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 5 – Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the tablet while pressing and holding Volume Up + Power buttons together. Alternatively, read this: How to Enter Recovery Mode on Any Android Tablet.

Step 6 – Once you are in the Recovery Mode, use Format Data option from Wipe menu. After that navigate to “flash zip from SD card” from the main menu.
