Solution #1 – Clear WhatsApp Cache

First thing you should try is to clear the app cache for WhatsApp. There may be some old files or corrupt data that may be causing the WhatsApp force close issue. You may have noticed we usually recommend clearing the cache as our first tip for most Android related issues. That is because it can help clear up temporary data which can cause problems. You just need to know the right app to clear cache of.
  • Go to Settings > Apps & notifications
  • From the list, select All apps and then scroll down to select WhatsApp
  • Tap on Storage
  • Now tap on the Clear Cache button

Solution #2 – Check for Updates

  • From the left sidebar menu, go to My apps & games

  • From the list, select All apps and then scroll down to select WhatsApp
  • Tap on Storage
