Solution #1 – Clear WhatsApp Cache


- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications
- From the list, select All apps and then scroll down to select WhatsApp
- Tap on Storage
- Now tap on the Clear Cache button
That’s it. You should try opening WhatsApp now to see if the “WhatsApp has stopped” error has gone away. In most cases, this should fix your problem. If not, continue reading below.
Solution #2 – Check for Updates


- Go to Google Play Store app
- From the left sidebar menu, go to My apps & games
- Now check if there is an update available for WhastApp
Solution #3 – Install WhatsApp Beta
In case you already have WhatsApp Beta installed on your phone, the first steps for you to do is to uninstall the beta release and download the stable most version available. Beta releases are not final versions, hence, they could cause problems or are not stable for daily use. But if you see this error on a stable release, then you can try moving on to a beta version to see if that problem has been fixed in the upcoming WhatsApp version or not.

Solution #4 – Clear App Data
Similar to our solution #1 (clearing the cache), you can also completely reset the WhatsApp app while it is installed on your phone. This can be done by clearing the app data for WhatsApp. In some cases, even this has been said to fix the problem. Here is how you can clear data in your phone:
- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications
- From the list, select All apps and then scroll down to select WhatsApp
- Tap on Storage
- Now tap on the Clear Data button
