We bring you the latest EMUI 9.1 update schedule for eligible Huawei and Honor devices. This is the next major EMUI update that will bring Android 9 Pie to Huawei / Honor phones. On March 26th, while the P30 series was released, Huawei also officially announced its new EMUI 9.1 system. Even though the Huawei P30 series comes with this system pre-installed on top of Android Pie, Huawei did not say much about its new software features. At the time of its release, we knew that it will obviously have smoother interface and optimized software for the new hardware. This new system update also comes with the Android 9 Pie depth customization, full-screen navigation gesture, and a new voice assistant. Now, Huawei has finally officially introduced details of the EMUI 9.1 system including aesthetics, performance, and general UI improvements for all of their devices.
The aesthetics, wallpapers, themes, and icons have been modified in this new EMUI 9 update. The icons are more natural and dynamic using a micro-real style which refines the design elements. In addition, the icons are flat and the number of default horizontal icons was reduced from 5 to 4. This improves the visual effect and the possibility of accidental touch is greatly reduced. If your are wondering that how will it perform and what kind of new features will you get, then you have come to the right place. On April 11, the Huawei P30 Series was released and along with it EMUI 9.1 was also released. Let’s look at some of the key features of EMUI 9.1 below.
EMUI 10 update schedule is now available for Huawei and Honor devices. For the full update list, read here!

EMUI 9.1 Key Features
Here are the key features of the new EMUI 9.1. The following features have been built over the previous EMUI 9 that was first introduced with the launch of Huawei Mate 20 series.
- Wisdom Clip: A unique aesthetic scoring engine that automatically clips videos, matches special effects, and generates stunning movies.
- Touch pass: With Huawei Share OneHop, a single touch can pass graphics between devices.
- One touch: the phone is interconnected with the treadmill to synchronize motion data in real time.
- Car key: The mobile phone turns into a car key to open the door. It currently supports Audi 7 models.
- AR measurement: The phone can directly measure length, area, volume, height and so on.
- GPU Turbo 3.0: GPU Turbo 3.0 is a new upgrade that covers 25 of the most popular games. This new update includes reducing SoC power consumption by 10% and optimizing the underlying system performance to provide a continuous gaming experience.
NOTE: Some of these features are hardware based and will not be available to every Huawei or Honor device. And some of the features also depend on region availability and model variants.
