Samsung has started official roll-out of Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update and here is how you can download it immediately for your phone. In a surprising turn of events, Samsung has went on to update its near two year old device with latest One UI 2.1 firmware. The brand did in fact release Android 10 for Note 9 couple of months back as it was still within its supported update cycle but with One UI 2.0. With initial reports sighting One UI 2.1 update would be skipped altogether, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Users can download official Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 firmware from ahead.
New update is based on latest Android 10, just as last official release, but now it carries changes to the UI and adds in new functionality that wasn’t initially present. For starters, Quick Share and Music Share makes its way to the Note 9. Further, this firmware also packs in latest June 2020 security definitions. We will discuss the changes in detail ahead along with linking the official Note 9 One UI 2.1 firmware files for download.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 Update
One UI is Samsung’s very own software skin that it integrates on top of Android. It carries various proprietary features and functionality that are not available with vanilla version.
Before, Galaxy Note 9 got updated to One UI 2.0 when it received Android 10. Improving on that baseline, new One UI 2.1 carries various improvements that make it a must-install update. Let’s discuss what’s new:
One UI 2.1
Samsung, with this update, is bringing One UI 2.1 to Galaxy Note 9. Like we discussed earlier on, One UI is what we can refer to as Samsung’s UI skin. With version 2.1, there are various improvements and changes included in the build. From slight UI tweaks to buttons to major changes to feature layouts, a lot is new in One UI 2.1.
The best way to experience what’s new in the UI is, of course, to try it out for yourself.
New Camera and Gallery App Modes
Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 also addresses the Camera app. Most of these modes made their first appearance on the Galaxy S20 and its good to see them arriving on Note 9. Further, Camera Pro Mode on Note 9 is also returning to the phone. Through this, users will be able to take full control of their shot.
New modes coming to Galaxy Note 9 include: Single Take, improved Night Mode and Pro Video mode.
AR Zone
Samsung is still continuing its efforts on AR. With Note 9 One UI 2.1 build, there is a new AR Zone app that consolidates everything related to AR — AR Doodle, AR Emoji — into one single place. This adds to overall convenience and reduces confusion when accessing Augmented Reality on Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
June 2020 Security Patch
Another key aspect to Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 build is the fact that it arrives with this month’s — June 2020 — security patch. Google has a monthly release cycle for security update hence each month there are new security definitions patched into Android that make it more secure, reliable and less susceptible to malware attacks.
