Here is The Official List of All The Motorola Phones That Will be Updated to Android 7.0 Nougat

Google announced 2 news phones yesterday, the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL. Both of these phones will come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.  It means that the previous Nexus devices will also get updated to Android 7.1 Nougat with the release of Google Pixel phones.

Meanwhile, all other phone manufacturers are trying their best to update their devices to Android 7.0 Nougat, which was officially released by Google on August 22. It is already available for the Nexus devices.

Android 7.0 Nougat

Motorola announced the official list of all the Motorola phones which will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. All the high end and mid range phones announced this year are on the list. It is sad to see that no phone from the Moto E series will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update, including the Moto E Power which was announced in July this year. I think this is very early to abandon a phone like this.

The Moto G 2015, just an year old phone, will also not get this update. Here is the list of all the Motorola phones that will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update:

  • Moto G (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Play (4th Gen)
  • Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
  • Moto X Style
  • Moto X Play
  • Moto X Force
  • Droid Turbo 2
  • Droid Maxx 2
  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Droid
  • Moto Z Force Droid
  • Moto Z Play
  • Moto Z Play Droid
  • Nexus 6

According to Motorola, Moto Z and Moto G (4th Gen) will be the first phones to get the update. Motorola will start seeding the update to the devices later this quarter. Which means that all of these devices should be running on Android 7.0 Nougat before 2017 begins.
