HTC announced the HTC One A9s, which looks like an upgrade to the HTC One A9 by its name but no, it is not. In fact, it has downgraded specifications than the original One A9.
The A9s comes with the same 5-inch screen but with lower resolution. It has the resolution of 1280x720p while the original A9 had 1080p resolution. Display technology is Super LCD capacitive touchscreen unlike the AMOLED screen of original A9. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass display protection.
As we know that the original A9 had the Snapdragon 617 chipset, but the One A9s has the Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset with Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-T860MP2 GPU. It comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone quickly and perform other tasks like taking photos and stuff.
The camera is 13 MP which can record 1080p videos. And the front camera is the 5 MP unit for excellent selfies. internal memory and RAM comes in 2 variants. A 2GB RAM model with 16 GB internal memory and a 3 GB RAM model with 32 GB internal memory. The battery is slightly bigger this time. It has a 2300 mAh battery which should run for a day on normal use.
The phone comes with Android Marshmallow out of the box and we hope that it will (and it should) get the Android 7.0 Nougat update very soon.
The phone will be launched in October but there are no words on pricing yet. Stay tuned for more information.
