Samsung Galaxy S5 has finally started to get the Android Marshmallow update. Almost all of the flagship devices have got the Marshmallow update till now. Including the Xperia Z5, LG G4, G3 and Galaxy Note 4,5 and Galaxy S6.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Marshmallow update started to roll out in South Korea today and it will be available globally in just a few days now. So you might have to wait if you are from somewhere other than South Korea.
The update improves the overall device performance by bringing performance improvements and more stability to the device. Traditional Marshmallow goodies are also included. For example, Doze in Marshmallow doubles the battery life of your device when its screen is turned off and it is at rest.
Improved app permissions are also included, which lets you choose that which app should specifically access which permission to use the hardware of your phone. An improved TouchWiz interface with the latest flavour of Android is also included.
Galaxy S5 was the 2014 flagship from Samsung. It introduced the waterproofing first-time in a Samsung device. Galaxy S6 was missing the waterproofing and Memory card slot but S7 brought these features back.
You can manually check the Marshmallow update for your device by going into Software updates section in the settings menu.
