Facebook Messenger For Android Got A Material Design Update

We’ve been hearing out since the start of this year that Facebook is preparing an update for Facebook Messenger which will introduce the Material design to their Android app. Facebook Messenger for Android just got that update which introduced the Material design for everyone now.


The Material design was introduced by Android with ANdorid 5.0 Lollipop. Since then, all major developers are updating their apps to Material design. Facebook got a little late on releasing the Material design for their Messenger on Android but here it is.

The announcement was made by the David Marcus who handles messaging at Facebook. Here is what he said:

If you’re using Messenger on Android, you’ve been wanting a brand new material design for a bit. Any major redesign of an essential app used by hundreds of millions of people around the world is painstakenly hard, and that’s why we took every precaution to ensure you’d truly enjoy this evolution. This brand new design will be rolling out later today! As always, give it a try, and let us know what you think, and how we can make it even better for you!
