Google’s Android One program is growing at a decent pace. Android One smartphones are now available in a number of countries. Today Google expanded its Android One program to Africa as well.
Infinix took the credit to launch the Android One in Africa with its Infinix Hot 2. Infinix Hot 2 is a pretty exciting phone with very decent hardware. It comes with 5 Inches 720p display. There is an 8 MP autofocus camera on the back and a 2 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Under the hood is a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor. Internal storage is 16 GB. It is a dual sim phone. It has a 2,200 mAh battery.
Infinix Hot 2 comes in 2 variants. One is with 1 GB RAM and it comes in black, white, red, and blue. Whereas the 2 GB version comes in gold only. The version with 1 GB RAM will be available for around $87 and the 2 GB version will be available for $97 only. The Phone will be running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and will be one of the very first phones to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
The phone is available in Nigeria today and soon will be available in other African countries including Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Egypt, and Morocco.
