Samsung is Launching Galaxy Tab S2 in August in 8-inch And 9.7-inch Models

Samsung has announced the new Galaxy Tab S2 tablet. Galaxy Tab S2 is “thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever” by Samsung.  It is, indeed, just 5.6mm thin. Both 8-inch and 9.7-inch models are equally thin.

The company has made the Tab more square this time. Now, instead of 16:10 ratio, it has a 5:4 ratio body. Samsung has made the tablet that way because it will be more convenient to browse web pages and read e-books on a square tablet. The square tablet will “recreate the viewing experience of browsing through traditional print media,”.

The tab has now a reading mode which “modifies the screen’s brightness level to help users read content for longer periods of time.”

The tablet also presents deeper contrast and more precise detail to provide a best-in-class reading experience with the Super AMOLED display delivering 94% of natural tones to show true-to-life colors (Adobe RGB color standard). Users can now enjoy galleries of vividly detailed photos and effortlessly shop online while viewing the most accurate images on the Galaxy Tab S2.

The 9.7-inch model of the tablet weighs 392 grams while the 8.0 version weighs just 565 grams. Both of the models have a fingerprint sensor for quick unlock and other smart tasks. The tablets come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.  There is an octa core processor with Quad-core 1.9GHz & quad-core 1.3 GHz CPUs.

Both models have 3GB of RAM. There is an 8MP back camera and 2.1MP front facing camera. Both models are capable of recording 1440p videos but they can play up to 2160p videos. Internal memory is 32/64GB internal which is further expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB.

Both models os Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in August. You will be able to buy either only WiFi version or WiFi+LTE version of the tablets. There are no words on the pricing yet.
