Moto G (2014) is Now Receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop in China

Motorola launched its first Moto G phone in 2013 with a promise to release regular updates for the phone. Then it launched the next generation of Moto G in 2014 with the same promise. So far Motorola is keeping up to their promises and is providing regular, quick updates for both Moto G devices.

Today, Motorola’s David Schuster announced that Motorola is now seeding Android 5.1.1 update to their 2014 version of Moto G in China.

Good news, we have started to fully deploy Android Lollipop 5.1 to Moto G (2nd Gen) in China today.


2nd Gen Moto G is an affordable device with very decent specifications. It comes with 1GB of RAM. It has a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1280×720. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and Adreno 305 GPU. Internal memory is 8GB which is further expandable with a Micro SD card. There’s an 8MP back and 2MP front facing camera.
