Huawei P30 Lite EMUI 10 update with Android 10 is now rolling out globally. The update first hit users in China. But now, there are reports that Huawei has started the global roll out of EMUI 10 for this phone starting with South Africa. The company started with Android 10 updates, first for the Huawei P30 flagship phones, then for the budget series like Huawei Y9 2019. Huawei re-launched this model as the P30 Lite 2020 earlier this month.
EMUI 10 has been in the works for a while now for Huawei and Honor devices. The company took a hit when the US ban stopped Huawei to put on Google Play services on the Huawei Mate 30 series, but Android 10 has been on schedule for previously launched devices. In fact, Huawei P30 Lite EMUI 10 update seems to be ahead of schedule than first expected. To check for new EMUI software updates, go to Settings > System > Software Update.
Huawei P30 Lite 2020
Whenever Huawei launches a new P-series flagship phone, they also launch a mid-range ‘lite’ version of the same series. Similarly, Huawei P30 Lite as launched alongside the P30 and P30 Pro. Huawei P30 Lite 2020 features a Kirin 710 processor with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. If you need a decent phone with massive storage options, this is something you can definitely go for. Further more, you can expand this storage with a microSD card in the hybrid SIM slot. The phone also features a triple-camera setup with improved sensors, but has the same waterdrop notch LCD display. There is a 3,340 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
This new phone is only available in the UK, but is expected to be launched in other markets globally soon. One aspect Huawei could have improved is that P30 Lite 2020 comes with Android 9.0 Pie (EMUI 9.1) out of the box. This should have been Android 10 with EMUI 10.
Huawei P30 Lite EMUI 10 Update
P30 Lite EMUI 10 update packs a while bunch of awesome new features. Android 10 was a feature-packed release and we are glad to see Huawei bring most of them to the Huawei P30 Lite. This update is a little less than 4GB in size, so you can expect a number of changes to your phone.
The most notable feature is the launch of native dark mode. This was one of the most requested features in recent times. All supported Google Play and system apps will also turn dark when this mode is enabled. Other updates include a system-wide performance upgrade and a new UI for the phone. This new UI features the Morandi Palette with subtle and calming colours all around the system interface and built-in Huawei apps. As part of the improved interface, you will also notice new animations which are much smoother and fluid.
Other changes include less negative spaces with better fonts, rounded icons and improved battery life performance.
