Android 7.0 Nougat is now official and is now available for installation on compatible Nexus devices. However, the question remains as to when will you get it if you don’t have a Nexus phone but have a 2016/2015 flagship smartphone. This time around, Google has dropped the Nexus 5 smartphone from the update as well as Nexus 7 (2013), both of which enjoyed numerous upgrades since there release. Compatible Nexus devices include the Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Pixel C and Nexus Player. Many brands will only confirm which smartphones will get the new update while others will also declare timelines.
