Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi A2 Lite are now receiving April security update. However, this isn’t the first time Mi A2 Lite has received this updates as few weeks back the phone got the firmware but due to major bugs the update had to be rolled back. This time, however, Xiaomi has fixed those bugs and released April security update for Mi A1 and Mi A2 Lite. Xiaomi Mi A1 is said to be first Android One device and was released with Android Nougat 7.1 which recently updated to Android 9 Pie. A great day for Xiaomi users!
Xiaomi has been a bit behind when it comes to updating devices despite being part of an Android One program. However, the newly released April security update has brought multiple major improvement in terms of performance, stability, and hardware such as fingerprint reader. All these improvements are mentioned within the change-log. We recommend users update right away to avoid any bugs or issues.
Xiaomi Mi A1 / Mi A2 Lite April Update
Xiaomi has been very lazy when it comes to updates as it shouldn’t be because Xiaomi handsets are mostly enrolled in Android One program which keeps receiving updates frequently but it’s not the same case with Xiaomi handsets. As of today, Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi A2 Lite are receiving April security update which comes packed with major improvements as Mi A2 Lite already received an update which had to roll back as we mentioned above. But this time Xiaomi took into consideration of fixing major bugs and applying performance, stability improvements and hardware improvements.
The update is released today so it might take a day or two to reach your Xiaomi device. Sit back and wait for the update to arrive or if you’re willing to do it manually kindly check the Software update section within the Settings section. If an update is available, download and install it. April Security Update cost storage of 257.6 MB in size. Both the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi A2 consist of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 524 Processor which seems to handle Android 9 Pie OS very powerfully.
