Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 gets Updated to Official Android Pie

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is finally now receiving Android 9 Pie update. Previously, before this, there were several updates that brought bug fixes and improvements. However, the brand is now finally pushing a major firmware which brings Android Pie to the device and also comes with March security update too. Asus handsets generally run on a stock version of Android. Further, Android Pie update was expected to release in the first quarter of 2019 and finally it is here.

ZenFone Max Pro M1 is a budget phone which is popular in the Indian market. The update version code is 16.2017.1903.050 for Android Pie and it requires storage of 1.55GB. And for those who are are already running Android 9 Pie beta will have an update of 392 MB in size. For testing, Asus first released Android Pie beta update for ZenFone Max Pro M1. Users had to sign up for the beta program to update their handset to Android 9 Pie beta.

ZenFone Max Pro M1 started receiving Android 9 Pie beta update on 28 February 2019. Android 9 Pie beta update wasn’t an OTA update which arrives through a notification, it was a beta program in which Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 users had to enroll for Android 9 beta update. As Android 9 Pie stable version update has arrived there is no need left to roll back to a beta version. Currently, Android 9 update comes packed with the March security update too.

March security update within the Android 9 Pie update is a major update which brings performance & stability improvements along with some bug fixes. Android 9 Pie update brings cool new features like Adaptive Battery system which uses Machine Learning technology to understand and prioritize system resources and a ton of new features. As Samsung devices were also receiving the Samsung’s One UI which isn’t included within Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1.

Updates take a day or two to arrive, so if you are wondering why haven’t you received the update, wait for it. And if you’re still curious, kindly navigate to Software Updates within the Settings App. If available, download and install. The update size will depend on your current operating system. If you haven’t enrolled in the beta program then you need internal storage of 1.55GB and if you were enrolled and using Android 9 beta update then just internal storage of 392 MB.
