In its latest update, WhatsApp has introduced new functionality within the app that lets users lock it directly via fingerprint. Seeing how users have already been utilizing third-party solutions to add a security lock over WhatsApp, the company has decided to include it as a built-in feature. Through this guide, you can download the latest WhatsApp APK that supports fingerprint lock and also find out exactly where you can enable fingerprint lock in the app itself.
Before, brands like Huawei, Realme and others included a locking feature directly within the OS which allowed users to lock certain apps via a pin, pattern or fingerprint for increased privacy. While these solutions worked well, they weren’t native to the app itself which meant they could be bypassed. Nonetheless, WhatsApp has now integrated fingerprint lock and you can utilize it through this guide.

How to Enable Fingerprint Lock on WhatsApp
The setting is a bit hidden, find it using these steps:
Step 1 – Open up WhatsApp and click on the three-dot icon on the top-right and then Settings from the drop-down.
Step 2 – From the Settings page, you should see Account option listed, tap on it.
Step 3 – From here, click on Privacy.

Step 4 – At the end of the new page, you should see Fingerprint lock, select it.

Step 5 – A toggle should be displayed to enable Fingerprint lock. Further, you can choose the time period after the app locks and also whether information should be shown in Notifications.

That’s all to it! You can now enjoy more privacy over your WhatsApp with fingerprint lock. As of now, there is no option for pattern or pin lock but seeing how every modern phone now comes with a fingerprint scanner, we can see why they skipped that.
