How to Install MIUI 10 Leaked ROM on with TWRP
Step 1 – Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.
Step 2 – Connect your phone to your PC.
Step 3 – Download the right TWRP image for your phone: (Save this on your computer in the same directory as Fastboot)
- TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
- TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
- TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi 5
- TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi 6
- TWRP for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
Step 4 – Download latest Google apps: Android 8.1 Oreo Google Apps.
Step 5 – Download complete MIUI 10 ROM for your device from the list ahead.

- MIUI 10 for the Xiaomi Mi 5

Step 6 – You need to transfer the complete ROM as well as the Google Apps package from your PC directly to the root of your phone.
Step 7 – Boot your smartphone into bootloader mode by first powering it off and then turning it by pressing Power Button and Volume Down simultaneously.
Step 8 – Now you need to boot TWRP custom recovery on your smartphone. For that, issue the following command:
fastboot boot FILENAME (Replace FILENAME with the actual filename you downloaded in Step 3.)
Step 9 – After you reach TWRP custom recovery’s UI, you need to click Wipe after which you should swipe to factory reset.
Step 10 – Navigate back to main screen of TWRP and then tap on Install. Now select the ROM you previously downloaded and transferred to your phone.
Step 11 – After the ROM finihes installation, go back and again tap on Install. This time, select Google Apps package.
Step 12 – Now, after both packages have been installed, just tap on Reboot and reboot to system.
That’s all to it! You should now have latest MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM running on your device.
You can go to Settings > About phone to see what version are you running on you phone.
