How to Install CWM Touch Recovery on Huawei U9200 Ascend P1
We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to install ClockworkMod recovery on Huawei U9200 Ascend P1. Please read every line carefully below. We suggest, read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your phone.
NOTE: This is mainly for Huawei Ascend P1 U9200 with B113 or B115 firmware.
To Remember:
- This tutorial is only for Huawei U9200 Ascend P1. Please don’t try this on any other variants of the phone.
- Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
- This will void your warranty.
If you have fulfilled all the requirements above, then proceed to the actual tutorial.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 – Make sure ADB and Fastboot is configured on your PC. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK. This is important.
Step 2 – Connect Huawei U9200 Ascend P1 to your PC with a USB cable and install ADB drivers.
Step 3 – Download ClockworkMod (cwm_touch_recovery_viva_beta.img) and copy/paste it in the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory.
Step 4 – Go to Fastboot/Bootloader mode now. How? Navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).
Step 5 – Type in the following command and press Enter.
adb reboot bootloader
Step 6 – Huawei U9200 Ascend P1 will switch OFF and then boot into the FASTBOOT mode. Once the drivers are installed, proceed below.
Step 7 – Then type the following command and press Enter.
fastboot flash recovery recovery-beta2.img
Step 8 – Now type the following command and press Enter.
fastboot reboot
Step 9 – Your phone will start normally. Once turned ON, turn it OFF again.
Step 10 – Then boot into the recovery mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Up + Power keys together to boot into ClockworkMod Touch recovery
That’s it. Your Huawei U9200 Ascend P1 now has ClockworkMod Touch recovery installed.

I have tried it and it breaks the possibility to upgrade Huawei firmware from DLOAD in extSD.
The only way to upgrade firmware with this recovery is to have firmware in zip format, and that’s hard to find.
Luckily I did a dump of the original recovery.img before trying it.

Hi folks, my dad is having a problem with this touch recovery. He wants to apply MIUI ROM to his Ascend P1, but he just doesn’t seem to be able to wipe data.. There is no “yes” option in the “wipe data menu”, only “no”. Where could be a problem?
