Here is how you can download Google Camera 6.2 APK for your Google Pixel phones. The new update just started rolling out earlier today and brings a new feature to the ‘Photobooth’ mode on the phone. The Google Camera app is now able to detect ‘kissing’ while the camera app is on. The Photobooth mode was already a useful feature for capturing group shots, but it is great that Google is bringing a lot more features from its Google Clip camera.
This new Google Camera 6.2 is only rolling out to the Google Pixel 3 phones, but the modded GCam by cstark27 works with older Pixel phones as well. We have covered this APK for download below for those who do not want to wait for the update to arrive from the Google Play Store. If you see any other changes inside the app, drop us a comment below. And just to mention it here, this is the first major update to the Pixel Camera app after the launch of the Pixel 3 phones last year.
Pixel Camera: Kissing Detection Algorithm
People who kiss and want a picture of that moment cannot look straight into the camera, so Google uses a different algorithm for detecting this. In the past for other facial detection, machine learning and AI has been extensively used in the Google Camera app.
The frame score considers both facial expression quality and the kiss score. As the kiss detection model operates on the entire frame, its output can be used directly as a full-frame score value for kissing.
