We are just two days in April, and the latest Google Pixel and Nexus April 2018 Android update is now live. You can now download and flash the latest April 2018 security update on your phone using the factory image or the OTA zip file. This April 2018 update comes with a huge list of bug fixes and changes. For the past couple of months, Pixel users had been complaining of so many issues and bugs with their Pixel and Pixel 2 phones. This latest update seems to have fixed up most of the problems. Apart from the software based functional updates, April system update also resolves a few high and many moderate level security vulnerabilities. Android partners have already been notified of the issues almost a month back before these issues are highlighted and published by Google. We can expect the new security patch on every Android phone by their respective OEM.
April 2018 OTA update also fixes a number of functional problems with the Nexus 5X, Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones. All these phones had all or some of the issues and Google has addressed all of them. We have attached a full changelog below for you to see what has changed. You can download the full factory image below for the mentioned devices.

There are already reports of the OTA update rolling out to devices right now. We tried checking for an update on our Google Pixel 2 XL, but have not received it yet. Apparently, the “Check for update” button was fixed last month, but seems to have been broken again – duh, Google! If you want to check if this update is available for you, go to Settings > System > System update > Check for update.
