To install a recovery ROM you need to first download the Recovery ROM for your region. After getting the package, put it in the root directory of your device. Afterwards, open up Settings > About Phone > System Update and then tap on the MIUI icon 7 times. After 7th press you should see “Choose update package” option in the three-dot menu. Select the option, and then select the file you download and hit “OK”.
