Install MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM with Updater App / Recovery Mode
This method relies on the recovery of Redmi 6. Also, it should work with your stock Xiaomi recovery or with a custom one like TWRP custom recovery. A computer or a connected phone is now required for this process.
Follow these easy steps to install MIUI 10 Global Beta on your Xiaomi phone:
Step 1 – Download Recovery MIUI 10 ROM for your Xiaomi Redmi 6.
Step 2 – Transfer the file to the internal storage on your device. The file should be in the root (main directory) of internal storage, not inside any folder as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 3 – Boot into Mi Recovery (Recovery Mode). This is the stock recovery your phone ships with. Be sure to have this installed rather than a custom one like TWRP. You can boot into recovery mode by opening up the Updater app (under Tools folder) and tap on the three dots at the top right corner. Tap on Choose update package.
Step 4 – From the file explorer view, choose the Recovery ROM file you transferred to your device in Step 2. Select the file as shown in the screenshot below and tap the OK button.
Step 5 – The Updater app will now check your ROM file for any errors and set it up for installation.
Step 6 – Once completed, you will be prompted to reboot the phone and install the update. Tap on the Reboot and update button to proceed.
Step 7 – Your phone will reboot now and installation will begin.
Step 8 – Your phone may reboot again during installation. So do not worry if that happens.
Step 9 – Once completed, your phone will start normally like it used to before installing the update.
Step 10 – To check and confirm what MIUI version has been installed on your phone, go to Settings > About phone.
That’s pretty much it! You should now have MIUI 10 Global Stable installed on your Xiaomi Redmi 6.
