Huawei has officially launched the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro in a number of markets all over the world, and with the growing number of customers, a lot of them want to flash mods and root their phones. This is why XDA Senior Member has ported out TWRP recovery for these two phones and the best part is, it almost works perfectly. There are some bugs for sure, but they should be ironed out in future releases. And as for those who were waiting for Huawei P20 and P20 Pro TWRP recovery, you have it now.
In the known bugs, you cannot create a backup of the /recovery_ramdisk and /vendor partitions. As for working features, the developer has listed the following to work perfectly in this TWRP release:

- MTP and OTG connection
- Backup & restore

How to Install Huawei P20 / P20 Pro TWRP Recovery
You can follow these steps to install Huawei P20 and P20 Pro TWRP recovery on the phone:
Step 1 – Download the above TWRP recovery .IMG file.
Step 2 – Boot your Huaweu P20 / P20 Pro to Fastboot Mode
Step 3 – Run the following command through Command Prompt / Terminal on your phone:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp_clt_0.1.img
NOTE: twrp_clt_0.1.img file should be in your ADB / Fastboot folder or the above command will not work.
Step 4 – Next, restart your Huawei P20 with the following command:
fastboot reboot
