Samsung’s budget Galaxy J8 is finally getting updated to Android 10, and with that, One UI 2.0 as well. New Galaxy J8 Android 10 build arrives as a nice surprise for existing owners. Announced exactly two years back in July of 2018, the device was still under official software support when Android 10 was released so it was only a matter of when rather than if for the official update announcement. With the stable firmware finally here, users can manually download it to enjoy Galaxy J8 Android 10 along with One UI 2.0.
Offering a plethora of phones at various price points, it becomes difficult for Samsung to release software updates quickly for all. Despite the delays, we are glad to see that Samsung is making progress and devices are getting new Android builds. This particular update for Galaxy J8 owners is a major step up. It packs Android 10, new UI, new features along with improved performance and reliability.

Samsung Galaxy J8 Android 10 One UI 2.0 Official Update
Galaxy J8 Android 10 update is packing lots of new features and changes. In addition to a newer Android version, it has updated Samsung overlaying skin — One UI 2.0. Moreover, there will be various fundamental changes introduced within the source code that users wont know of but behind the scenes, they will enhance the overall experience.
Here are some of the highlight functionality that is being pushed to Galaxy J8 users through this Android 10 update:
Android 10 and One UI 2.0
The overlaying skin used by Samsung on its phones is referred to as One UI. With Android Pie, the brand released is first iteration. For Android 10, just like Google revised the stock UI, Samsung integrated few tweaks and refinments to its own skin hence the name One UI 2.0. Available only based on Android 10, this iteration is more fluid and refined. The changes aren’t fundamental but definitely noticeable.
More, as One UI 2.0 is based on Android 10, this means users will be able to run latest Android 10 APIs on their phones. Features that rely on Android 10’s API level will no longer give an incompatible warning.
Increased Performance
Jumping from Android Pie, Galaxy J8 Android 10 build brings in improved performance by more optimized code and modern techniques. The same hardware of Galaxy J8 should now yeild better results and should hopefully feel more “snappy” within the system UI.
July 2020 Security Patch
Alongside Android 10, Samsung has used this build to introduce July 2020 security patch to the phone. If you are unaware of security patches, Google releases new definitions each month to make Android more secure, reliable and less susceptible to attacks.
