OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are now eligible to install and test Android Q Beta / Developer Preview directly. As OnePlus exclaimed that both new phones will get Android Q Beta update, the official firmwares are finally here. Being a beta release, there will be a lot of new things to test but along with that, some issues as well. Fortunately, you can try it out on your phone and if you decide to roll-back, you easily can.

Google has packed Android Q with loads of new features and functionality. From UI standpoint, there is now extensive implementation of Dark Theme and Dark Mode throughout the apps and system UI. Further, internally, there is Project Mainline which updates the system core via Play Store — this is to address issues in security and speed up the update process. As we mentioned, the features are numerous but there are few bugs as this is a beta build. Following are known issues related to Android Q Beta on OnePlus 7 Series phones.

Known Issues 

  1. Ambient Display is not working
  2. System stability issues
  3. Cannot send SMS when VoLTE is on
  4. Navigation gesture is not working
  5. Recovery mode doesn’t work
  6. Some apps may not function as expected when running on this Developer preview release
  7. Issue with MTP that doesn’t allow you to copy rollback file from PC to Phone

We have ahead, official download links to complete Android Q Beta official firmware files. The procedure for installing these ZIPs is, you can go to your stock recovery and flash these as you would any other ZIP file. A data backup is recommended before you proceed towards installation.
