It is start of April, this means Google is all set to release new firmware updates containing April 2016 security patch for all compatible Nexus devices. These new builds are based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow source code. The updated build-name indicates that these new firmwares only have updated security fixes and no other major change. Small bugs and issues also get addressed in these monthly releases so it is advised you do update your Nexus device. Google is still in the process of releasing OTA(Over-the-air) updates and it will take some time for all Nexus phones and tablets to get the notification. Till then, you can install MMB29X / MHC19Q build immediately by downloading the factory image and applying it manually. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow MMB29X / MHC19Q update is applicable for all compatible Nexus devices. These devices are Nexus 6P, 5X, 6, 5, 7 (2013) and 9. This build will include all of the security patches up to the date, April 1st. Also, SDK images have been updated which means you can visit the SDK manager and update your virtual machines as well.
