Samsung May Unveil Galaxy Note 5 in Mid-August, Ahead of IFA

Samsung has introduced every model of its Galaxy Note series at IFA every year, since 2011. IFA is regularly conducted in September. Apple also introduces iPhone around same time period every year. Like last year, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were announced just after a week of the introduction of Galaxy Note 4.

But this year, as the Wall Street Journal reports, Samsung may unveil Galaxy Note 5 before schedule. Samsung may introduce its next Galaxy Note in mid-August this year, two weeks before IFA. The recent performance of company has fallen short of expectations as Galaxy S5 didn’t do well last year and even though Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were successful phones of this year, Samsung is projecting less profit this quarter than the same quarter last year.

So launching Galaxy Note 5 ahead of schedule will give Samsung a head start and sometime before Apple announces its next iPhone as the iPhone took away a lot of hype from Samsung last year due to close launch.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to come with a 5.67 inches flat screen display. There is no Edge version this time like last year’s Galaxy Note Edge. However, Samsung might be working on Galaxy s6 Edge Plus which will be dual curve device with a 5.7-inch display.
